Liz began her career in education as an activities director, teacher of various subjects (US History, World History, NM History, Yearbook, and Desktop Publishing) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  While she taught, she returned to get her MA in educational leadership at the University of New Mexico.  After 11 years in Albuquerque, she married her husband and moved to Las Cruces, NM where she served as an instructional specialist and assistant principal for a middle school in the LCPS system for two years.  In the fall of 2015 she moved to Colorado with her husband.

Building-wide Technology Manager, Building Safety and Security and Administrative Liaison to Art, the Library and Science.

Rick is currently serving the Bear Creek High School community as an as Assistant Principal.  His educational experience includes years as a classroom instructor, athletic coach, assistant dean of students, assistant principal at both the high school and middle school level, and middle school principal.  He earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder in history and physical education, and a master of arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado in educational leadership and policy studies.  A Colorado native and K-12 product of Jeffco Schools, Mr. Freeman is married and has two children.

Data and Assessment Coordinator and Administrative Liaison to English Language Learners, the Cafeteria, the Clinic, Social Studies and World Language.

Elizabeth LohffLiz began her career in education teaching Spanish and ESL to high school students in Arizona. She returned to the University of Arizona to get her MA in ESL and a teaching certificate.  In 1999, after finishing her Ph.D. in language, lIteracy and culture with a minor in teaching and teacher education, she moved to beautiful Colorado to work in DPS in the Department of English Language Acquisition doing compliance work as a Literacy Assessment Coordinator. She married her husband Mike and became a stepmom to Jack and Cade. Her years at Jeffco include being an assistant principal at two Title I elementary schools, Stein and Eiber, and now as assistant principal at Bear Creek High School.

Jeff LuedersAssistant Principal
(Athletic Discipline 10th - 12th)



Athletic Director, Athlete Discipline, Building Use and Facilities and Administrative Liaison to PE, Business & Tech Ed and Family and Consumer Science.

Jeff LuedersMr. Lueders has been in education since 1993.  He followed his Hall of Fame father in the education field.  He is a devoted family man raised by incredible parents.   He is married to a wonderful woman, Melody, and they have two children, Lars and Chelsey.  Lars is a Math teacher at Dodge City High School in Dodge City, Kansas.  Chelsey is a Physical Education teacher at Gunnison High School.  Both are working on their masters in hopes of being future athleticd directors.  Mr. Lueders is in charge of all athletic activities and the administrative liaison for physical education.  He loves the kids at Bear Creek and feels like we have the best school in Jefferson County.  Go Bears.

Building Scheduler, Data and Assessment Coordinator and Administrative Liaison to ACE, Counseling and Project Lead the Way.

October began her tenure at Bear Creek in 2007. In her more than 20 years in education, she has been a Caballero, a Raider, an Eagle, a Warrior, and now a Bear.  Before adminstration, she was a math teacher at the high school level for 10 years, in both Arizona and Colorado.  She is married, and has two daughters.  When she's not working she enjoys playing with her kids, watching movies and rooting for the Arizona Wildcats.

Jayne VahleInstructional Coach



Ms. Vahle has taught English at BCHS since 2003, most recently AP Language. Beginning in 2016, she became the Instructional Coach, a support person for teachers and coordinator of school interventions and programs. Native to Scotland and raised in Oklahoma, she was drawn to the mountains of Colorado and the University of Denver. At DU, she found her passion for teaching in the poetry of John Keats.  She came to BCHS after teaching composition at DU while earning her MA in Literary Studies. When she is not reading books about education, her New Yorker Magazine, or books for her book club, Ms. Vahle can be found practicing yoga, walking in the park, or playing Legos with her two children.  Her obsessions include Star Wars, Time Magazine, discourse with a penchant for the fascinating, and hope for the future of education.
